Capretti was founded by my mum, Carol, whose lifelong dream was to own a shoe shop. With her passion for beautiful shoes and handbags, and her love of helping every customer find something special, she turned that dream into reality.

A few years later, I joined her, and together we built a business that we truly loved.

Sadly, Mum passed away in 1998 at just 50 years old. Losing her was heartbreaking, but I knew I wanted to continue the dream she had started.

Over the years, Capretti has grown from a shoe and handbag boutique into the ladies’ fashion store you know today, while always keeping Mum’s passion for quality, style and personal service at the heart of everything we do.

Forty years on, I feel incredibly proud to continue her legacy and so grateful to every customer who has supported us along the way.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible staff who have worked alongside me over the years, or the wonderful friends who have been there through every high and low. Your loyalty, hard work, encouragement and friendship have meant more than you’ll ever know.

Most importantly, thank you to our amazing customers.

Many of you have been shopping with us for years, and some of you have even introduced your daughters and granddaughters to Capretti. Your support has allowed us to keep doing what we love for four decades.

I think Carol would be incredibly proud that her dream has not only lasted 40 years but has grown into a boutique that has become part of the Ossett community.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of our story. Here’s to celebrating 40 years of Capretti —a nd hopefully many more to come.
